Empower Ministry Group exists to support and develop Korean-American Seventh-day Adventist ministry in North America through creation of resource materials, lay leadership training, and mentoring & consulting.

Empower seeks to meet real needs of Asian-American Seventh-day Adventist churches, particularly the needs of the English-speaking generation.

In most Asian-American churches, this generation is struggling without stable leadership. In 80% of all Asian-American churches, this generation is served by part-time pastors and volunteers that change from year to year. Even in churches with full-time pastors, the change of pastors occurs usually within 2-3 years. As a result, leadership in Asian-American congregations has been suffering deeply.

In April 2002, Empower Ministry was launched as an initiative of concerned Asian-American pastors and church leaders who desire to alleviate this crisis in leadership.

In short, we are about empowering church leadership---particularly lay leadership---for ministry so that the second, third, and fourth generation Asian-American Adventists can be nurtured and trained for God's Kingdom.
